This policy explains what Certified Payroll App (https://certifiedpayrollapp.com), operated by Owusu LLC ("we", "us"), collects, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, your business name if you add one, and the emails of teammates you invite.
- Your content: the information and files you enter or upload to use the Service, and the documents the Service generates for you. We use it only to provide the Service to you.
- Billing details: payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your plan, payment status, the card brand and last four digits, and your postal code, never your full card number.
- Usage and device data: pages viewed, buttons clicked, approximate location from your IP address, browser and device type, and how fast pages load, so we can keep the Service working and improve it. If you arrived from an ad, we keep the ad click identifier and campaign parameters to measure our advertising.
- Cookies: a sign-in cookie, a security (CSRF) cookie, an anonymous visitor identifier and an ad-attribution cookie. We don't use advertising cookies from third parties on signed-in pages.
How we use it
To run your account and the Service, to bill you, to send transactional emails (sign-in links, receipts, trial and payment notices, reminders you can turn off), to keep the Service secure and prevent fraud, to understand how the Service is used, and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information and we don't use your content to train AI models.
Service providers
We share data only with providers that help us run the Service, under contracts that limit their use of it: Google Cloud (hosting, storage and AI models), Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (network security and email delivery). AI features send the text needed for the request to Google's Vertex AI, which does not use it to train its models.
Where data is kept and for how long
Data is stored in the United States. We keep your account and content while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your content and account data from the Service; billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting laws require, and backups expire within 90 days. Usage logs are kept for up to 24 months.
Your rights
You can view and update your details on the Account page, export your documents, turn off reminder and product emails, and delete your account at any time. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA or Mexico's LFPDPPP), you may also have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. To use these rights, email [email protected]. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
If you use the Service to process information about other people, such as your employees, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to do so and for informing them; we process that information on your behalf and only on your instructions.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, signed sessions and limited staff access. No system is perfectly secure; tell us at [email protected] if you notice anything wrong.
Children
The Service is for businesses and is not directed to children under 16.
Changes
We will post any change to this policy here and, if it is material, tell you by email before it takes effect.
