Terms of Service
Last updated: October 30, 2026
These terms govern your use of Certified Payroll App at https://certifiedpayrollapp.com (the "Service"), operated by Owusu LLC ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you use the Service for a business, you accept these terms on its behalf and confirm you may do so.
The Service
Certified Payroll App is software that helps you prepare records, documents and reports. It does not give legal, tax, safety, medical or other professional advice, and using it does not make you compliant with any law, regulation or standard. You decide what to file, sign, post or keep, and you are responsible for checking that your documents are complete and correct for your situation. Certified Payroll App is independent software. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Department of Labor, SAM.gov, the California Department of Industrial Relations or LCPtracker. You review and sign your own certified payrolls.
We may change, add or remove features. We will tell you in advance about changes that materially reduce what your plan includes.
Accounts
You sign in with an email link. Keep access to your email secure: anyone who can read it can sign in to your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what teammates you invite do. You must be at least 18 years old.
Plans, trials and billing
Paid plans are billed in advance through our payment processor, Stripe, in the currency shown at checkout.
- Free trials. A trial needs a payment card. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your plan starts and the card is charged automatically. You can have one free trial per email address.
- Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) at the price you subscribed at, until you cancel.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from the Account page in a few clicks. Cancelling a trial ends it, and your access, right away, and you are not charged. Cancelling a paid plan stops future charges; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds. Payments are not refundable except where the law requires it or we decide otherwise. If a charge is refunded or disputed, access paid by it ends.
- One-time purchases. One-time purchases are charged once and are not subscriptions.
- Price changes. We may change prices for new subscriptions. We will give you notice before any change to the price of an existing subscription takes effect, and you can cancel before then.
- Taxes. Prices may not include taxes, which are added where required.
Your content
You keep all rights to the information and files you put into the Service ("Your Content"). You give us permission to store, process and display Your Content only to run the Service for you. You are responsible for having the right to upload Your Content and for its accuracy. Do not upload information you are not allowed to share with a service provider. Unless a product page says otherwise, do not upload protected health information, payment card numbers or government identification numbers that the Service does not ask for.
You can export your documents while your account is active and delete your account at any time from the Account page. When you delete your account we delete Your Content from the Service, except copies we must keep by law or that remain for a short time in backups.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the Service: no unlawful use, no attempts to access other accounts or our systems without permission, no interference with the Service, no automated scraping, no reselling the Service without our written agreement, and no use to create misleading or fraudulent documents.
AI features
Some features use AI models to draft text. Drafts can be wrong or incomplete. Review and edit every draft before you rely on it.
Availability
We work to keep the Service available and your data safe, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or fines, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim.
Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or that we must close by law, and will tell you when we can.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will tell you by email or in the Service before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where Owusu LLC is organized, excluding conflict of laws rules, except where the law of your country of residence requires otherwise.
